Pilgrimage To Nobility

The purpose of the SCA is one of service and education in all things Medieval and Renaissance. It is also the goal of the Pilgrimage to educate and share the joy of service with the populace of the Kingdom of Aethelmearc. We as “Scadians” teach just about all subject matters of the scope of our period to those who attend demos and events. Do we often enough teach our members and our prospective members what it is WE do? Through our chosen paths in the Society we all become Noble, to that end we invite all orders of excellence to participate in the growth of that which is the future of our Society. Since all of the orders of excellence are but an aspect of the Society it requires all aspects to make the Society complete. We would reflect this in the pilgrimage and ask that each order emphasize the importance of the others as well in their teaching time with the populace.

Here we will offer each member of our Great Kingdom an opportunity to participate in our Pilgrimage to Nobility!

The Pilgrimage

We plan to set up sites at various events about the Kingdom during Our Reign that will hold a station represented by the designated Order of Excellence. One event will focus on one Order and its activities. The members of the Order will have a representative or many representatives to educate those who attend on the various goals and tasks of the Order, the pathway to that Order and the meaning of that Order to the Kingdom and the Society. We would ask that your station be set up as a class and Order meeting and open to discussion on topics relevant to your Order.

We will not exclude the Children from this undertaking but will focus on them! The children of the Kingdom are the future membership and leadership. We all see it now as there are many among us who have grown up in the SCA. Here is a chance to have the children participate even more. We would ask that the children’s activities for the events be focused on the Pilgrimage. The children will also have the chance to learn from the leaders of the Kingdom and hopefully be able to feel that these great personas of Our Kingdom are friendly and approachable.
