Harvest Raids

The Report of Their Royal Majesties Henri and Elena, Roi et Reine d’Aethelmearc, held on the 26th day of September AS 44 at Harvest Raid in the Shire of Heronter, THLord Brandubh Ó Donnghaile, Silver Buccle.

Their Majesties invited THLord Antonio de Luna to come forward as the autocrat of the fine event.  Antonio thanked all for coming and announced that Lord Jacob of Dunmar had held a fencing tourney and that Lord Ivan Pevcov had proven to be the victor in that competition.  THLord Antonio presented Lord Ivan with a bottle of Spanish wine as a prize.  Antonio announced that the winner of the Arts and Sciences exhibit would be announced during feast.  But that he would like to thank Lord Lothinn Vikarsson publicly for all his assistance to this event.  Lord Lothinn had been responsible for several years for the decorations of the site at Harvest Raid, but now he was preparing to move to the Realm of Trimaris.

Their Majesties thanked THLord Antonio for these announcements but bid him stay a while, for words had reached Their ears that he had achieved a score of distinction upon the thrown weapons range.  THLord Antonio was now in possession of an average score of 82.67 and Their Majesties presented him with the medallion of Huntsman rank.  Scroll in progress by THLady Maria Christina de Cordoba and Lady Morwenna Everdon.

Their Majesties invited THLord Antonio to then speak on behalf of the Tournament that he had conducted that day to determine the new Thrown Weapons Champion of the kingdom.  Antonio called forth Master Charles or Alden to come forth and take the baldric and axe once more and stand as the champion of the kingdom.  Scroll by Yvonne Beaudoin.

Aaron the Swift was summoned as he had served his time as the youth combat champion of the Kingdom, and had held a tourney that day to determine his successor.  After all blows had been counted, the new Kingdom Youth Champion was found to be Lord Rouland of Willowbrooke.  Aaron passed the baldric of the champion to Rouland and he took his place in the court.  Scroll limned by Lord Jacques of Sylvan Glenn with calligraphy by Pierre Legros.

Their Majesties also spoke of the Kingdom Heavy Weapons champion.  That day 40 gentles had entered the list to compete in Duke Malcolm Maceoghainn’s tourney to determine a successor, and a clear victor was shown.  Duke Maynard von dem Steine claimed victory as he defeated all opponents in the list, and did take up the Sword of State and take his place in the court.  Scroll by Lady Gwenhwyvar Morwyn and Gui Menard.

Their Majesties Further announced that word had reached Them from the Archers to the Wald event held in the Canton of Steltonwald that The King had a new Archery Champion.  Lady Muirghein Gaelbhain had challenged the archers of the kingdom with a range and Baron Bataar Sogdo had emerged the victor.

Countess Liadain ni Dheirdre Chaomhanaigh was invited to attend Their Majesties.  The Ladies of the Rose with the assistance of THLady Keinwen Ragnarsdottir had conducted a workshop to make favors and then distributed those favors to individuals who inspired them at the event as the first step on the Pilgrimage to Nobility.  Their Majesties invited the youths who had participated in this activity to attend them, Ashley of Stormsport, Lady Allyssa von Stahlgeist, Anastasia, Nina, Lynn, Lily, and Alexa to attend Them and gave each of the youths a hood and presented them with Rose tokens to adorn their hoods with rose buttons provided by Countess Liadain.

Their Majesties invited Countess Caryl Ollesdattir and her compatriots Vilhjalmr and Bran to enter Their Court.  Vilhjamr and Bran announced that they would hold the field at the Feast of the Seven Deadly Sins in a Youth Deed of Arms and challenged all comers to attend them on that the occasion of their parents investiture as Baron and Baroness of Delftwood.

Mistress Jenna MacPherson was summoned and bid to distribute prizes and toys to all the youth in attendance that day during the feast.

Sir Hrothgeirr Ivarsson was created a companion of the Order of the Cornelian for his gentle bearing and model of chivalry.  Scroll by Countess Branwen ferch Gwythyr.

Their Majesties called Thora of Heronter to attend Them.  They spoke words of praise of this fine woman that she was truly a valuable asset to her Shire.  She cooks and provides food that all might enjoy, and for this Their Majesties awarded her arms.  Scroll by Lady Helene al-Zarqa.

Lord Ian Kennoven was summoned into Their Majesties’ Court.  His Majesty recounted a time that Lord Ian had instructed him on Irish history and the Book of Kells, and further vouched for this man’s skills at cooking fine foods.  Their Majesties were greatly pleased by this and Inducted Lord Ian into the Order of the Sycamore.  Scroll by THLady Keran Roslin and Dame George Anne.

His Majesty thanked the populace for supporting Their Reign on this cool and blustery day, they had truly made it a wonderful day for both of Their Majesties.
