Gulf Wars

Report of the Court of Their Royal Majesties Henri et Elena, Roi et Reine d’Aethelmearc, held at Gulf Wars, Her Highness, Tessa, Princess of Aethelmearc in attendance court held on the 16th, 17th and 18thv days of March anno societatis 44, THLord Brandubh Ó Donnghaile, Silver Buccle, with assistance of THLord Robert O’Connor.

Tuesday Evening Court March 16, on the Battlefield.

Their Majesties thanked all for traveling the far distance from home to attend Gulf Wars.

Master Alastar Scott MacCrummin was invited into Their Majesties’ Court.  Their Majesties thanked Master Alastar for his great service to Gulf Wars in running the Goode Bakery and appointed him as Their Royal Baker, and further bestowed the Aethelmearc Award of Excellence upon him for his generosity and willingness to aid the armies of Aethelmearc in transporting tents and armor to the event.

Their Majesties called Ulvika of the Debatable Lands into court and Awarded her Arms for her teaching of Persian dance both locally and at Pennsic.  Scroll Forthcoming by Baroness Barbary Rose.

Viscountess Judith of Kirtland was invited into court.  Their Majesties spoke many kind words to Viscountess Judith as to how she inspired Them, and how They could see Their dream of the SCA brought to life in her.  For her inspiration They named her The Jewel of Aethelmearc to rank as the 28th Jewel named by the Kingdom of Aethelmearc.

Their Majesties then called forward all combatants who attended the War to Fight on the heavy weapons field, on the rapier field, or on the thrown weapons and archery ranges, and thanked them for taking up Their Majesties’ call to crusade.  For representing Aethelmearc in marshal pursuits at the foreign war, Their Majesties inducted the following gentles into the Order of the Golden Thorn, THLord Urho Walterinnen, Lord William Paris, Lady Rosalia Iuliana Andere, Duke Christopher Rawlins, Duchess Morgen of Rye, Lady Elaine Fairchild, Baroness Ariella of Thornbury, Sir Maghnus an Chnoic na n’Iora, THLord Iain mac an Bhaird, Baron Rodrigo de Vega, Lord Karsten the Obvious, Lord Kvack, THLord Boden, THLord Gareth Kincaid, Lord Faiol MacGeriot, Lady Aaradyn Ghyoot, Lord Tegan O’Shahan, Lord Lucious Gothicus, Wulfstan of Sarum, Lord Madison Morai, Lord Malingas Maqqas Dunaidonas, Sir Magariki Katsuichi no Koredono, Dona Illadore de bedegrayne, Oswyn de Wulferton, Katelinen van Wettern, Lord Juan Miguel Cezar, Lady Marina Martinez de Aragones, Lord Zsolt-Patrick Geibel, Lord Marcus of Steltonwald, Lord Eckhart von Insterburg, Lord Brennan of Acre, THLord Gabriel Hawkes, Lord Reynard le Vavasseur, Lord Lothar Hugelman, Sir Hrothgeirr Ivarsson, Sir Michael of Northwood, Her Royal Highness Tessa the Huntress, Luciano Alvarez, Cynewyn of the Debatable Lands, Lady Lantani de Forez, Mistress Juliana Delamere, Baron Dominic MacMorland, Lord Daibhith Clarsaidh, Jussie of the Northern Cross, Lady Ells von Augsburg, Lord Nissan Maxima, Lord Random Wronghand, and THLord Robert O’Connor. Syr Bear the Wallsbane declined the honor.

Their Majesties next called forward all of those who had travelled to the War to support the combatants and bestowed the first sigils of Their Reign upon Master Alastar Scott MacCrummin, THLady Myfanwy ferch Rhiannon, THLady Anna im Turm, THLord Brandubh Ó Donnghaile, Lady Ines of Alegria, Lady Stasha Sebastyn, Mistress Miriam Meggett, Lady Ulvika of the Debatable Lands, Viscountess Judith of Kirtland, Lord Drogo Rabenwald and Lady Una of Rabenwald.

Their Majesties then called upon all persons who had attended the War who did not yet have an Award of Arms, and in the manner of Henri V of England awarded arms to Jussie of the Northern Cross, Luciano Alvarez, Wulfstan of Sarum, Katelinen van Wettern, Cynewyn of the Debatable Lands, and Oswyn de Wulferton.  These gentles had accompanied their King to war, were good enough to fight and die by his side, and so He deemed them all to be nobles and proclaimed them to be so.  Scrolls to be forthcoming.

Their Majesties called forward Baron William Hauke of Effingeham, Lord Santiago de Anna, and THLord Richard le Wolfe.  These gentlemen of The Kingdom of Trimaris had lent such superior service to the crown and peoples of Aethelmearc that Their Majesties bestowed the Aethelmearc Award of Excellence upon them.  Baron William had run the camp set up for the Aethelmearc army, Lord Santiago had donated money to the gas fund which had assisted the armies in driving to the event, and THLord Richard had lent his own personal tent to Their Majesties, Henri and Elena, to use throughout the war.

Dona Illadore de Bedegrayne was presented as a citizen of Aethelmearc, having satisfied letters between Their Majesties Henri and Elena and Their Majesties Atlantia, Vladimir and Kalisa.

Their Majesties thanked all in attendance one again for attending the war and representing Aethelmearc to the Known World.

Wednesday Morning March 17th on the Battlefield.

Their Majesties Called Lord Random Wronghand forward and thanked him for his many years of service as the head of House Clovenshield.  Every war Random personally fields an army, and when his king called him to crusade he answered.  For his leadership of Clovenshield and vast experience on the battlefield They Granted him Arms.

Thursday Evening March 18th in Aethelmearc Camp.

Annaleigh of the Debatable Lands was summoned before Their majesties and Awarded Arms for Traveling great distances with the army of Aethelmearc to serve on the fencing field, and recruiting new members.  Words by Lord William Paris. 

Lady Annaleigh was further inducted into the Order of the Golden Thorn for this service to the crown of accompanying Them on crusade to serve on the rapier field.
