Agincourt
The Report of the Court of Their Majesties Henri and Elena, Roi et Reine d’Aethelmearc, held at the Agincourt Event in the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands on the 24th day of October as 44, His Royal Highness Prince Malcolm and Their Excellencies Byron and Ariella of the Debatable Lands in attendance, THL Brandubh Ó Donnghaile, Silver Buccle.
Their Majesties received the oath of fealty from Their Excellencies Byron and Ariella, Baron and Baroness of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands, and then gave Their Excellencies leave to hold Their Baronial Court.
Their Majesties received Master Tofi Kerthjalfadsson as he swore fealty to the crown and Kingdom of Aethelmearc.
Lady Muirghein Gaelbhain, the King’s Archery Champion, was called forward. Lady Muirghein stated that she had held a tournament to select a new champion at the Archers to the Wald Event and that she would like to present him to His Majesty that he might be invested in his new station. Their Majesties called forward Baron Batar Sogdo, and Lady Muirghein transferred the regalia of the King’s Champion to him. Their Majesties thanked Lady Muirghein for her skills and service to the Crown and Kingdom, and thanked Their Excellencies Byron and Ariella and His Lordship Fintan na Coilled, the Archer General for overseeing the competition in Their absence, and invited Baron Batar to join Their Court.
Their Majesties invited the Dame Margaret Makafee, Mistress Constance Waite and Mistress Arianna of Wynthrope to come forward as members of the Order of the Pelican who had conducted a Pilgrimage to Nobility quest that day, and Lady Lyssa von Stahlgeist who had led the youth in the quest. They spoke of the quest for service and the youth who participated were invited forward and Their Majesties presented Paige, Owen, Michael, Gordon, Ben, Katheryn, Lyssa, Sophia, Robert, Ernin, and Kate with hoods and tokens from the Order of the Pelican to display on their hoods for participating in the quest that day and working on making a banner of what service means to them. Lady Lyssa presented research that she had conducted on the Shrine of St Swithin.
Their Majesties invited Mistress Constance to take a basket of toys to the back of the hall and distribute toys to all the youth in attendance at the event.
Robert of the Debatable Lands was called before Their Majesties and made a companion of the Order of the Silver Buccle for his assistance at events and practices, and skills in Boffer, archery and thrown weapons. Scroll painted by Lady Marija Kotok, calligraphed by Baroness Alessandra d’Avignon.
Their Majesties called for Ceindrech verch Elen and created her a lady of the court for her many labors with the youth of the kingdom and barony, especially for her services as youth marshal. Scroll in Progress by Countess Branwyn ferch Gwythyr, words by THL Brandubh Ó Donnghaile.
THL Deryk the Archer was summoned before the thrones. Their Majesties noticed that he had brought quite a selection of potent potables with him to the event, and that he had shared all of this more than willingly with all present and with Their Majesties. They noted that this behavior was in fact quite common for him, and so They named him royal vintner to Their Reign.
Roderigo el Rojo was called forward, and Their Majesties spoke to him of his service to the incipient College of Vulcan’s Forge where he serves as pursuivant. There he teaches, and recruits new members and fences. Their Majesties had taken note of his activities and were moved to Award him Arms, and name him a lord. Scroll by Lady Gwenith of Newtonhill.
Their Majesties called for their Plague doctor and his associate Lord Brennan of Acre. Lord Brennan, speaking for the famous Doctor Eckhart, brought up the issue that Their Majesties had not yet satisfied that issue of his bill, and further had some other demands that needed to be negotiated in their contract to insure their safety and well being should anything go awry. Their Majesties paid the agreed on sum and thanked them for their concerns and promised to inspect the contract and deliver them an answer at a future date.
THL Gareth Kincaid was called into Court. Their Majesties thanked him for bringing his household out to the event, as they could always count on House Sable Maul to fill out the ranks of Their Army. They also spoke of the armor that the house wore, and how much of it came from the hand of His Lordship Gareth or from those that he had taught the arts of leather working and armoring, blacksmithing and casting. Their Majesties saw the artist and teacher behind the warrior and created him a member of the Order of the Sycamore so that all would know. Zen scroll by THL Brandubh Ó Donnghaile.
Their Majesties wished to hold a discussion with THL Urho Walterinnen. They spoke to the populace of the skills with dough and oven that Urho demonstrated, of his wide array of breads that he bakes and of the sweets that he makes, and of the heraldic pies that creates for the royalty. They thanked him for the red berry escarbuncle pies and for the blue berry fleur-de-lis pies that he had created for Their Majesties and named him Royal baker to Their Reign.
Their Majesties next called forward Master Karl von Elfstein der Schmuckmacher and thanked him for the outstanding service that he had delivered to Their Persons. That when they needed tokens he set about casting dozens of coins for Their Majesties’ use during Their Reign. In thanks of this They presented Master Karl with a black onyx ring and instructed the populace to ask him why that caused him to chuckle so.
Their Majesties wished to speak with Their Excellencies Thomas Byron of Haversford and Ariella of Thornbury. They thanked them for being gracious hosts of this event in their home. Not only this event, but many events, and practices, and meetings, and sewing circles, workshops, regional musters, and more, for this service of building such a home with the intent to host such events is such a great service to the kingdom and the barony that Their Majesties created them both Companions of the Order of the Keystone. Their Majesties called Fintan na Coilled to attend Them. They spoke of his service to the kingdom, when the royal camp at Pennsic needed Benches he answered the call. When a bid was called for new heirs thrones, he threw his skills upon the task. He hosts woodworking workshops at his home and is well know for the quality and durability of his furniture. They invited the Most Noble Order of the Fleur d’Aethelmearc to attend Them and the order confirmed that they would have Fintan listed among their numbers, and so Their Majesties created Fintan a member of the Fleur d’Aethelmearc. Their Majesties thanked the populace and event staff for the wonderful event, and Their Excellencies Byron and Ariella for hosting. His Majesty spoke a few words about the honor and chivalry that are represented at Agincourt, and how deeply he feels about this event and portion of history, that it is part of His dream, and He thanked all for sharing His dream on this day.
